I woke up tired and thankful. Tired, well, just because I was tired! And thankful because yesterday’s 5:20 morning alarm was the 2nd to last one I’d have to deal with for the week. Yay for having Friday off!
Cait brought me coffee in the morning to drink on the way to ‘Pump. I chugged that baby way too fast (and during class too). I needed it so bad! The class was good but Cait and I were both dragging. I found myself sitting on the step in between tracks and not wanting to get up for the next one. But our instructor had been on vacation for two weeks, so we were very happy to have her back! The subs were good, but not the same!
7:30 AM: When I got home, I got dressed quiiickly and grabbed a chocolate coconut date ball (OMG SO GOOD) and my lunch + extra snacks while running out the door.
7:45 AM: And then I ate another one in the car. I couldn’t resist!
8:30 AM: When I got to the office, I grabbed my morning coffee and a black cherry Chobani to finish off breakfast. Finally full!
12:30 PM: During an early afternoon meeting (where pizza was served!) I ate the cheese and toppings off a slice. Yeah, I know, sounds kind of gross. But Papa John’s pizza crust is not my favorite, and I knew I had leftover salsa chicken waiting, so I resisted eating the whole thing. Whatevs.
Had some more grapes too.
3:00 PM: I was craving chocolate like a mad woman. Really anything sweet, for that matter. But I wanted to resist hitting up the vending machine for something random, so I grabbed a date ball (last one, I swear hah) and hoped it would trick my taste buds. Whadya know?! It did! But I still thought I felt hungry. But I thought I could just be bored too. So, I set my iPhone timer (such a nerd) for 20 minutes and told myself that if I was really still hungry in 20 minutes, I’d get one of the snacks I had packed.
Well, I decided to make it a productive 20 minutes and did some tasks I had been putting off. When the timer went off, I was not hungry in the slightest. Mind games, yo!
7:00 PM: I was a starvin’ Marvin when I got out of my hair appointment! I had to pick up a few ingredients since I planned to make these, so I grabbed a PureProtein bar on my way out of the store. My grocery store was out of almond butter (yes, out of it!) so I got good ol’ fashioned PB instead.
7:30 PM: I quickly baked up a batch of these delicious cookies and you knooow I had a few bites of dough and spoonfuls of peanut butter while baking! Because it’s definitely impossible to resist. I ended up making them in bar form in a 13″ x 9″ pan and they turned out great!
I spent the rest of the night catching up on laundry and packing (yee haw), since I’m headed to see Joe tonight after work.
This morning, I did my favorite 5 mile loop to break in the new kicks that showed up at my door last night.
Note to self: I so need to update my iPod. Why oh why do I have to get music ADD so easily?! Got any recs?
I had a goal to run over 150 miles in August, but unless I log about 30 miles between today and tomorrow, that just ain’t gonna happen. I think September is going to be the month!
Have a great day!
